Technical Lead

Technical Lead Buckinghamshire £55000 Permanent
The Technical Lead role is responsible for delivering work packages assigned through working with the Portfolio & Team operations and the EIS Manager roles.  The Technical Lead will be responsible to a set of outcomes from each work package, including the delivery of the solution and/or enhancement and subsequent handover to the Operations group.  The role is not just a Scrum Master, but will be expected to work in an agile way, following defined DevOps principles and utilising modern application architecture principles such as 12-factor app.  This role is expected to have broad technical knowledge and have experience and capability to design and execute “full-stack” within our Reference Architecture and application and service principles defined by the CTO.
This role will not Administratively manage the individuals in the team and the ‘pool’ of resources will be matrixed across the ETS organisation.
  • A few years' experience in Information Technology
  • A few years' experience leading an Agile team / acting as a technical lead / managing the work of others
  • A few years' experience working with modern application services & methodologies, including Agile, DevOps and Developer Experience acting as either a scrum master or product owner
  • Experience in multiple highly technical disciplines and the ability to demonstrate knowledge across Cloud, Networking, IT Security, Software development & DevOps toolchain
  • Strong organizational and communications skills with multiple examples of being able to convey complex ideas in a manner that resulted in a definitive direction and result
  • Strong personal & work organisational skills
  • Effective time management skills
  • Experience as a coach and/or mentor in developing people
