THE OPPORTUNITY:

Due to the continued and varied growth of our Product team, we have an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong background in development and support of hardware devises to join us. You will initially support in the development cycles until you gain a good understanding of the system, before being tasked with various on-off and bespoke projects. You will be highly experienced within C++ and Linux as well as raspberry Pi’s, Network devices and Can Protocols.

A TASTE OF THE DAY TO DAY:

• Day to day ownership and management of codebase and control logic for hardware applications, inc. troubleshooting, documentation and QA
• Development of bespoke hardware integration for projects such as breakers, meters, networking devices.
• Continual review of systems to ensure reliability and robustness of products.
• Support in the testing of core-hardware devices such as EV Chargers, vehicle OEMs and storage solutions.
• Support in the futureproofing of our systems by undertaking regular R&D packages.

Essential competencies:

• Thorough understanding of C++
• High level of knowledge of Raspberry Pi 3 and 4.
• Strong background in Linux and virtualisation (particularly Ubuntu and VMWare EXSi).
• Experience of bash scripting, SSH, SCADA integration and DevOps.
• Experience of successful product development through the incremental iteration of hardware and software.
• History of technology evaluation and selection.
• Experience of R&D and integration of new devices, including testing and documentation.
• Good understanding of network devices and complex network set-ups.
• An interest in green tech and IOT.
• Ability to troubleshoot, research, and work through complex problems via logs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.

Desirable but non-essential skills:

• Experience working a start-up environment.
• History supporting the integration of devices via CAN registers.
• Knowledge of Miktrotik suite.
• AWS background.
• Experience with Zabbix and Ansible scripting.
• Experience with EV charging (OCPP) or battery storage.
• Experience building and leading an agile development team via Atlassian suite.
• Experience working with grid services.
