Business Analyst (IT)

Business Analyst (IT) Nottingham £400 to £450 BAB Temporary

The Business Analyst will act as part of a programme/ portfolio team to connection between business functions, technical community and suppliers to facilitate application and solution development. Additionally, the Business Analyst will define and document internal and external user interfaces, business processes, systems and data requirements as projects require leading to the definition of functional solutions for the organisation.

  • Analyse and translate business requirements into functional and non-functional requirements
  • Work with Solution Architects to transform and develop requirements into functional  business and application design
  • Leading workstreams in a project environment
  • Offer analysis guidance to other members of the Project Team
  • Provide business analysis support to facilitate the programme deliverables
  • Supporting the delivery of key products and bespoke implementations
  • Taking ownership of the requirements throughout the project lifecycle
  • Scoping and definition of functional solutions
  • Acting as a liaison between business and technology partners
  • Gaining in-depth understanding of business services, capabilities and processes
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness
  • Leading workstreams or small projects if necessary
  • Assisting Project Managers on larger more complex projects
  • Supporting testing and implementation
  • Experience

Essential:

  • Demonstrate up-to-date expertise in Information Systems and apply this to the development and execution of projects
  • Extensive experience in Business Analysis, System Engineering and Modelling Techniques.
  • Proven experience providing project level analysis – producing required project analysis documentation (business requirements, scope matrix, use cases, sequence diagrams, future state proposals, etc.)
  • Demonstrable ability to analyse and synthesise business requirements
  • Strong Stakeholder management – dealing with all levels of stakeholders including 3rd party suppliers and Company Directors
  • Understanding and negotiating needs and expectations of multiple stakeholders
  • Support system conversions, upgrades and enhancements
  • Functional and technical specification design
  • Functional solution design
  • Working on large scale projects as well as handling day-to-day operational requests from the business
  • Have a proven understanding of the project and software development lifecycles

Desirable:

  • Agile, ISEB Analysis and/or any Project Management qualifications would be beneficial
  • Energy supply chain industry experience
